The Haryana government is working on a system called the Auto Debit Challan for traffic violations. Under this Auto Debit Challan System, the penalty for violating traffic rules will be deducted directly from the violator’s bank account.
●Under this system, the penalties for traffic violations will be deducted directly from the violator’s bank account.
●The violator will receive a digital challan in the form of an SMS in their mobile numbers directly.
●The government is trying to bring the Auto Debit Challan System in the state of Haryana by 2021 itself.
●The system will be in operation in at least ten districts of Haryana including- Gurgaon, Ambala, Karnal, Panipat, Sonipat, Rohtak, Hisar, Kurukshetra, Rewari, and Jhajjar.
●Under this project, CCTV cameras will be installed throughout the state and all the cameras will be connected to the traffic control room.
Under this project, 30 chowks each have been identified in district Ambala, Hisar, and Karnal, 15 in Panipat, 52 in Sonipat, 12 in Rohtak, 25 in Kurukshetra, and 13 in Rewari.
“We have a plan to bring an automatic challan system for overspeeding on roads in some areas,” Khattar told the media here.
If this system is successful, Haryana will be the first state in India to have this improved and modernized traffic management system.
