FASTag is based on radio frequency identification (RFID) technology that scans the TAG on your vehicle and deducts the amount of toll tax from your bank account.

Secondly, the TAG contains a magnetic strip and is affix on the windscreen of your car.
Above all, the government is planning to mandate the FAST Tag from 15 February earlier it was 1 January.
In addition, Once you affix the TAG on your vehicle you can simply pass the toll plazas without stopping to pay for the toll but the toll amount will get deducted from your connected bank or wallet.
Currently, not all toll plazas are FAST Tag facilitated.
How can I get FASTag?
There are many merchant websites and vendors that offer instant fast tags for your car. Merchants like Paytm, Airtel thanks app, and other mobile wallets provide the facility of the tag. Alternatively, you can apply on your bank website with your scanned copy of documents (RC and vehicle number).
The TAG is delivered at your doorstep or address provided on the portals.

Cost of FASTag
The cost of FASTag varies from vehicle to heavy vehicles and trucks. the cost for cars, jeeps, and vans is ₹450 and goes up to ₹900 for heavy vehicles. The cost includes a security deposit of ₹200.
