Section 206: Power of Officers to impound documents

Check Challan Status online. The Motor Vehicles Act, section 206which was first implemented in 1988 is stated as the power of officers to impound any type of documents that may be false. The main idea of this section will be that police or officers have the power to impound documents.
The police or officer has this power to impound or seize any documents which are presented to him are either false or illegal, these documents may be insurance certificate of the car, certification of registration, license, permit, or any type of document presented to them by the person of interest.
The police or officers can also seize or confiscate any license of the motor vehicle driver, as if they believe the person who is caught under this Act may be a run-away or a criminal, the person would be presented in the court, after the first appearance, their license should be returned. Also, this may end up suspending the driving license of anyone caught under this section of MVA when read with sections 183, 184, 185, 189, 190, 194C, 194D, and 194E.
