The pandemic has taken a huge toll on everybody’s lives, be it economically or mentally. To protect themselves and their families, the whole country is following the rules and guidelines that the government has laid down. The police department is trying tirelessly to make sure that these guidelines are followed by the people.


On 19th June 2021, a man was arrested in Vijayawada for not only violating the traffic norms but also attacking the traffic police present there.

Kopula Nagaraju, a man belonging from Vijayawada was spotted riding a two-wheeler with two pillion riders. This incident occurred around 5 p.m. on June 19th, 2021. The violator was caught on the CCTV camera in the area.

  • The traffic police constable then went to the violator and challaned him for riding a two-wheeler with two pillion riders which are prohibited according to the Motor Vehicles Act.
  • The constable then challaned him and asked him to pay the fine for his violation.

Instead of paying the fine and accepting his mistake, Kopula Nagaraju started arguing with the traffic police constable. Kopula Nagaraju and the constable then got into a very heated argument in regards to the violation and the challan. Due to this, the man pushed the traffic constable in his rage at the moment.


That quickly turned very ugly and the other traffic police had to intervene. Taking advantage of the moment, Kopula and his friends also attempted to escape from the scene to save themselves from the fine and further punishment. Kopula Nagaraju was caught immediately but his friends managed to escape the scene.

  • Following this, a case was registered against Kopula Nagaraju. It was also found that Kopula Nagaraju was also intoxicated at the time of the incident.
  • Charges were filed against him regarding drinking and driving and also physically assaulting a police officer along with the challan that was initially issued to him.
